Meniscal tears are not as common in the Paediatric group as in adulthood, but they are still seen in reasonably high numbers. In the paediatric population, every effort is made to repair meniscal tears. They are less common than in the adult population and need to be diagnosed and treated early to prevent later deterioration of the knee.
Meniscal repair is performed arthroscopically using an All Inside technique or an inside-out technique. A brace and crutches are used for 4 weeks before weight bearing is allowed.
